Advocacy in the classroom

Updated: Sep 9, 2018

As public school teachers, one of the many hats we wear is that of advocate. When inequities and injustice occur in the world, we seek to mitigate them in our classrooms. We advocate for our students in order to create equitable, just, and safe learning environments. We strive to create an environment in which all students, regardless of race, ethnicity, socio-economic status, gender, etc., have an opportunity for upward mobility, progress, and growth.

CTA has released a "Call to Action for the Public Education all California Students Deserve". In an effort to continue to support "a strong, inclusive, safe, and innovative public education system" (https://www.cta.org/forallstudents), teachers can download classroom posters to show their commitment to all students. Check out the toolkit and posters at the link below!!!
